DIGIS3 becomes a benchmark for digital innovation in Castilla y León, thanks to the approval of the proposal submitted on 22 February 2022, to become a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH).
The Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0 (DIHBU), member of the DIGIS3 consortium, participates as co-applicant in this initiative focused on improving the level of sustainability of the Mexican industry, from the European environment, being the only Spanish participant.
Both DIHs, which coincide in terms of their industrial focus and operating structure, met on 1 July to verify lines of collaboration and exchange experiences.
The European Commission has approved the candidacy of DIGIS3, of which AIR Institute is a member, to become part of the European Network of Digital Innovation Hubs. DIGIS3, with a budget of just over €3,447,000 for the next three years, has been selected from among more than 300 applications shortlisted by the Member States.
Today, different digital technologies are increasingly helping us combat the effect of climate change. It can also contribute to forest fire management through prevention, detection and restoration.
In Castilla y León, the primary sector, agriculture and livestock, account for 9.7% of the economy of this community. It is the fourth autonomous community in which agriculture accounts for a large share of the Spanish economy.
We are currently in the midst of a climate emergency, which has led companies to set new goals for a new energy model that guarantees the sustainability of the planet. Sustainability cannot be understood without the energy efficiency of the natural resources we need. Spanish companies are aware that sustainability is a key strategic element for their business.
The DIH-World project aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies by European manufacturing SMEs in all sectors, supporting them in building sustainable competitive advantages and reaching global markets.
