EU and USA organise a Cybersecurity webinar for SMEs

DIGIS3 will participate in the cybersecurity webinar organised by the European Union and the United States on 25 January , from 15:00 to 17:00. This webinar, which DIGIS3 will join online, is aimed at European and US SMEs and is intended to deepen cybersecurity training.

A recent survey carried out by the European Union Cybersecurity Agency reveals that cybersecurity attacks could have a highly negative impact on the business of more than 80% of SMEs.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses have become more digitised. Cybersecurity has become an even greater challenge for SMEs, and the need for greater cybersecurity awareness and preparedness has become more evident.

The webinar will be divided in two parts:

  • During the first half of the webinar, Lucio Gonzalez Jimenez from SGS Brightsight CyberLab will teach SMEs how to recognise cyber criminals and online threats to their business, protect themselves from the risks involved in operating online and make the products and services they sell cyber-secure.
  • During the second half, SMEs from the European Union and the United States will talk about the cybersecurity challenges they had faced and the solutions they found. These SMEs will also have the opportunity to propose, before the chairs of the EU and US working group, measures that would help create greater cyber-resilience.

The agenda is as follows:

15:00 - 15:10 Introduction by Lucilla Sioli, Director, DG CONNECT A, European Commission; Valentina Superti, Director, DG GROW G, European Commission; David De Falco, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Europe and Eurasia, International Trade Administration and U.S. Department of Commerce.

15:10 - 16:00 Cybersecurity training for SMEs.

16:00 - 16:50 SMEs' experiences with cybersecurity and SMEs' suggestions for policy makers on how to improve the adoption of cybersecurity.

16:50 - 17:00 Conclusions and closing of the webinar.

DIGIS3 will be present at the webinar as a promoter of the digital transformation of companies and public entities, committed to promoting the importance of cybersecurity in any digitalisation process.
