Official launch of the DIGIS3 initiative

The DIGIS3 initiative - Intelligent, Sustainable and Cohesive Digitalisation - is configured as a Digital Innovation Hub. The DIHs are groupings of entities that provide companies and public administration in a given territory with access to the information, services and facilities they need to successfully tackle their digital transformation processes. It is one of the main tools of the European Commission to achieve the objectives set out in its digitisation strategy.

DIGIS3 is an initiative for the digitalisation of Castilla y León, which aspires to be an official candidate for the European Digital Innovation Hub.  The event will take place on 17 September in the Nexo building of the Caja Burgos Foundation, open to all companies and interested parties, with limited capacity.

DIGIS3 has emerged as a natural evolution of the existing DIHs in the region and is made up of the following entities:

  • The AIR Institute technology centre, as a centre of competence in Artificial Intelligence of the IoT DIH, Digital Innovation Centre focused on the use of IoT technologies in the production processes, products and services of companies.

  • Instituto para la Competitividad Empresarial de Castilla y León (ICE), as a promoter of the proposal from the regional government.

  • DIHBU Association, Digital Innovation Centre expert in Industry 4.0, fully operational from 2019, with a strong industrial component.

  • DIH-LEAF Association, recently created Digital Innovation Centre aimed at the primary sector, in order to respond to the challenge of digitisation and technological innovation in this broad productive sector.

  • Fundación Centro de Supercomputación de Castilla y León (SCAYLE), as an expert partner in supercomputing.

  • The University of León as an expert partner in supervision, control and automation of industrial processes and critical infrastructures as well as in Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing or Aerospace Technology.

The aim of the event is to inform companies in Castilla y León about the DIGIS3 project, its mission and services offered, as well as its enormous importance in boosting the competitiveness of our territory. The initiative is aligned with the priorities of the regional Smart Specialisation Strategy and has the institutional backing of the Regional Government of Castilla y León.
