Extensive Horizon Keys to digital, sustainable, competitive management
Extensive Horizon Keys to digital, sustainable, competitive management
The travelling conference ‘Horizonte Extensivo’ (Extensive Horizon) was created with the aim of opening a window onto the future of extensive cattle farming, showing how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand in a sector that is key to our region.
In the provinces of Salamanca and Zamora, we have something that sets us apart from other regions in Spain: Wooded pasture, a unique ecosystem that promotes sustainable livestock production, respects the environment and generates opportunities.
This privileged environment not only promotes sustainable extensive livestock farming, but also allows for progress towards regenerative models capable of caring for the soil, conserving biodiversity and maintaining the natural landscape. It also offers a real opportunity for companies outside the rural environment to participate in environmental compensation initiatives, actively contributing to the regeneration of the environment.
The breadth and diversity of the territories of Castile and León and part of Extremadura make this model possible, representing the true livestock farming of the future: sustainable, innovative and committed to the territory.
During the conference, we will explore how new technologies can help us to:
- Better management of livestock farms.
- Improved traceability and marketing of products.
- Facilitating generational renewal in the sector.
We will also learn about practical cases from livestock farmers and cooperatives that are already applying technological solutions with real results, always with sustainability as the central focus.
“Extensive Horizon” is conceived as a space for meeting and learning, where knowledge can be shared, questions answered and a more competitive, innovative and sustainable future for extensive livestock farming can be built together.
