DIGIS3, through its member DIHBU and in collaboration with the Industrial 5G Lab from the Polea LAB project, is offering a basic course on "Private 5G Networks for Industrial Settings." This is a free in-person session aimed primarily at employees of SMEs and mid-cap companies who wish to gain a basic understanding of how private 5G networks work and their potential applications in factories and facilities.
The session will last five hours and will be held on Thursday, 17 July at 09:00, at the ITCL General Services Building in Burgos (C/López Bravo, 70, Burgos). Attendees will learn the fundamentals of this type of connectivity, its advantages and disadvantages compared to other technological options, as well as real-world use cases. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to observe a live demonstration of a private 5G network in operation at the DIHBU Lab, featuring various applications and robotic elements.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Introduction: The evolution of mobile networks from 2G to 5G.
- Components of 5G networks – types and features.
- Spectrum management – bands used and their characteristics.
- 5G networks vs alternative technologies.
- Use cases.
- Practical demonstration of various applications using a private 5G network
