Edge Computing is the processing, analysis and storage of data that takes place on the network, as close to the source of generation as possible, allowing rapid data analysis and an almost immediate response.
The aim of this technology is to reduce the communication time between the client and the server, improving the speed of response by delegating the heaviest tasks to a central server with high processing capacity.
Despite its similar name, edge computing differs from cloud computing. While cloud computing generates and collects databases in multiple locations, storing them in the cloud for remote processing, edge computing allows information to be kept as close as possible to the user's device.
