On 8 and 9 March, the Science and Technology Station in Burgos hosted the I Computing Hackathon in Burgos (HaCoBu 2024), which focused on artificial intelligence and virtual reality. The event, organised by the University of Burgos and the ITCL Technology Centre, an affiliated entity of DIGIS3, was attended by the Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0 (DIHBU) and the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICE), members of the consortium.

HaCoBu 2024 was a great success in terms of participation with the presence of dozens of groups of students who, organised in teams of two, three or four people, presented their projects, which were evaluated by a jury formed by experts. The organisers gave a "very positive" assessment of the activity, which sought to promote innovation and create an environment that encourages creativity, the development of practical solutions, fostering collaboration as well as learning and knowledge sharing, according to the ITCL Technology Centre. The jury insisted on "the importance of creating multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive solutions to problems and to create platforms that provide real solutions based on virtual reality and AI".

The projects were based on games applied to industry, robotics and task automation through tools that were made available to the developers.

The Managing Director of ITCL Technology Centre, José María Vela, congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue working together with the regional institution.
