Advanced Factories, the leading event in automation and industrial robotics in Southern Europe, was held successfully for the eighth time in Barcelona from 9 to 11 April with more than 27,000 attendees, 567 exhibiting companies and 382 speakers. Castilla y León played a leading role in the event thanks to its recognition as a European Industrial Region 2024 and DIGIS3 was there through its members DIHBU and SCAYLE and its affiliated entity Keyland SdG.

The Councilor for Industry, Trade and Employment of the Junta de Castilla y León, Mariano Veganzones, was in charge of explaining the community's success story and the applied industrial policies, focusing on the entrepreneurial spirit, the development of physical and human capital and the great commitment to technological capital. In his presentation to the rest of the country's industries, he highlighted the "very strong commitment of 154 million euros, since 2022, to the development of industrial estates, a reality that is already evident in provinces such as León, Zamora, Salamanca, Ávila and Segovia", according to the Councilor.

The European Digital Innovation Hub DIGIS3 had an exhibitor at Advanced Factories, where it was able to showcase the excellence of industrial digitisation in Castilla y León, as well as the proposals for the advancement of smart, sustainable and cohesive digitisation of SMEs and public administration entities in the region. On Wednesday 10 April, a roundtable discussion was held on "Ecosystems for industrial digitalisation: Impact scenarios for Industry 4.0", with the participation of Cristina Esteban, researcher at SCAYLE; Carmen Iglesias, CEO and general manager of Keyland SdG; Rocío Viruega, Head of New Technologies at Alpha SYLTEC Ingeniería, and Núria Marín, Marketing & Communications Manager at Sinterpack-Xolertic, with the moderation of Belén Lanuza, general manager of DIHBU. The roundtable addressed the impact of industrial digitalisation ecosystems on the development of Industry 4.0 in specific territories and verticals, favouring the implementation of automation technologies, robotics and intelligent systems.

The eighth Advanced Factories event had an economic impact of more than 62 million euros and many of its themes are defining the future of advanced manufacturing with artificial intelligence. DIGIS3 has been able to share its services and strategies at a cutting-edge event with Castilla y León as a protagonist, which will lead to major agreements and projects in the future.
