At DIGIS3, the European digital innovation hub driving technological transformation in Castile and León, we want to highlight projects that are shaping the future of the agroforestry sector at European level. One of these is FEROX, a pioneering initiative that combines autonomous drones and artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency and safety of manual harvesting of wild products in the forests of northern Europe.
This project, in which one of the partners of the EDIH in Valencia (INNDIH) is participating, develops technological solutions capable of generating fruit distribution maps using images taken by drones that navigate between trees, while at the same time alleviating the physical burden on harvesters thanks to heavy-load transport drones.
Although the pilot focuses on countries such as Finland and Sweden, FEROX's tools are scalable and can be applied to contexts such as ours. Its technologies have enormous potential for tasks such as mushroom or wildflower harvesting, forest fire prevention, or waste detection in natural environments.
Take part in this quick survey and learn more about FEROX.
