DIGIS3 and InnDIH, the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) of Castilla y León and Valencia respectively, have reached an agreement to work together on advanced digitisation services from their native regions. Both centres, financially supported by the European Union, focus their activity on artificial intelligence, HPC, big data, cybersecurity, robotics, internet of things (IoT), cyber-physical systems (CPS), modelling and simulation (M&S) and digital manufacturing, among other technologies.
The signed cooperation mechanism, which will be transferred to the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network (EDIH Network), will optimise the services offered by both hubs to their respective clients, foster matchmaking and develop new services. The agreement, officially signed last February, has the ultimate goal of increasing the individual capabilities of both EDIHs, as well as the transfer of best practices.
Negotiations began at the Burgos Industry 4.0 2023 Technology Meeting, with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and DIHBU playing an essential role as participating entities in identifying synergies and in the initiative to formalise the collaboration. Within the framework of this event, Juan Franscisco Blanes, from AI2 of the UPV -an entity that participates in InnDIH-, and DIHBU as a partner of DIGIS3, started the first conversations to verify cooperation options.
The Instituto Tecnológico de Informática (ITI), coordinator of InnDIH, has declared that it is "delighted to collaborate with DIGIS3" and hopes that "the relationship will be very fruitful". Both EDIHs have already started working to enable joint projects and actions from their respective regions
